Don’t let your website usability be hurt by your website business optimization. When most people think of optimization they think of search engine optimization to get the highest ranking. Sometimes optimizing for search engines will actually hurt your websites usability.

Website usability has to come before anything else. If it doesn’t your not going to make any money anyway. Search engine optimization comes second. Someone good with search engines can work around the problems usability may cause and still get number 1 rankings.

The easier your site is to use the happy your visitors are going to be. If it’s hard to find their way around or a hard to read font they will just leave and spend their money somewhere else. These things are all so ingrained in me I can’t really imagine having to tell people the basics. However I do understand that newbies to web design don’t have the knowledge that I do so I sometimes belabor the obvious to webmasters who’ve been around for a while.

There are tons of mistakes you can make in the optimization and the usability of your website so it’s smart to learn the very basics before you design your first website. Then your website business optimization will help you make more money because of great website usability.
