When it comes to exterior home lighting for safety reasons, you don’t want to have to light up your entire property at night, especially if you have a large house or a big lawn. That is a waste of money and will annoy anyone that lives within a mile of you. Instead, you should find motion detector lights that will only turn on when movement is detected.

It should not be touchy enough to go off if a mouse scurries by, but should pick up anything that might be human. They will come on when needed, and shut off after a time if no more motion is detected. These are great as they scare people off who should not be lurking around the outside of your home.
