You might have a hard time finding someone who doesn’t know the names Barbie and Ken. Most little girls love dolls, and if they did not have these two on their own, they probably had at least one friend that did. These dolls have been around for a long time, and have maintained their position as being the most popular dolls for girls to own. Not only could you own Barbie in many costumes, participating in many careers, and associating with many different friends, you had a huge variety of homes, cars, pets, and various settings that you could own to accommodate your games.

Today Hannah Montana is the doll that seems to be replacing Barbie in the hearts of many girls. Hannah Montana is a Disney creation that began with a television series that focuses on a girl who lives a double life as an average teenage school girl named Miley Stewart (played by Miley Cyrus) by day and a famous pop singer named Hannah Montana by night, concealing her real identity from the public, other than her close friends and family.

In December 2006, Disney announced plans to release Hannah Montana products, including: clothing, jewellery, apparel, and dolls, at select stores. Play Along Toys released the Hannah Montana fashion dolls, singing dolls and Miley Stewart doll, and other merchandise in August 2007. More Hannah dolls were released in November, along with Oliver, Lilly, and later Jake Ryan dolls. They became one of the most popular Christmas toys in 2007.
