Defining Online Outsourcing
Technically speaking, outsourcing doesn’t necessarily mean sending jobs across the world to be performed by people in countries that demand less pay. Really, it refers to any job being sent outside of the main company even if the outsourced worker is in the business next door. For an example, visit buitenlandse arbeidskrachten. With all of that being said, the public tends to view outsourcing as being on par with offshore outsourcing, which is the practice that involves sending jobs overseas.
Because of that redefining that goes on with the word in everyday language, the concept of online outsourcing tends to be viewed just as negatively by society. When someone hears that a company is outsourcing a job online they tend to assume it’s going to somebody who’s working in India or another country where people are willing to work for next to nothing by North American standards.
